China Glaze Zombie Zest

This is another polish that I had for a really long time and just never tried. I figured I would get into the Halloween spirit! This is from the China Glaze Halloween collection of last year. This needed 4 coats to be completely opaque. Otherwise, I didn't like the way it looked. It reminded me of snot.

It reminds me of a murky swamp thing rather than a zombie.

Without the flash, this looks more accurate to how it looks in person. I like it this way much better. I thought that I would absolutely hate this polish, and simply bought it because of the name. I ended up getting many compliments on it though!

OPI DS Mystery

I have had this polish for a really long time and I haven't tried it out! I wasn't sure how much I would like it, because it caught my eye in the store. ULTA lighting made it look brilliant, but once I brought it home to my dim apartment, it looked almost black.

With the flash and in the sunlight, you can see the dark violet undertones of this polish. In low-light, it does look almost black. I am really impressed with it though! I love all the shimmer that the DS shades always have.

Here's what it looks like without the flash.

Manis from the week

Chameleon-Calypso: this is a wonderful duochrome! It looks purple, but it changes green and blue!

Here you can see some of the green.

This has many different looks to it.

OPI-Dating a Royal: With the flash it looks so much lighter and brighter than it actually is in person.

Without the flash, this looks pretty accurate.

It was about the same color as my blue pen.

This is OPI I Brake for Manicures after only one day of wear. I had to do a lot at work, so this is probably why they chipped so quickly.

Here it is without the flash.

China Glaze For Audrey under Funky Fingers- Black Scales. LOVE THIS COMBO!

Here it is without the flash.

And the winner is.......

Thanks to all who entered my giveaway. The winner is .....

Thanks to all who entered my giveaway. The winner is Kristal from Bull City Beauty. Congratulations! I will be contacting you shortly.

I've been super busy this past week, but I managed to take pictures of all of my manis. Here they are:

OPI- Be a Dahlia Won't You? I love this color! It is such a brilliant, shiny hot pink! It doesn't look as bright as it really is in the picture.

Here it is without the flash.

This looked somewhat patriotic. It is OPI St. Petersburgandy with Sally Hansen Ice Queen on top. With the flash, the red looks so much lighter.

This picture is almost accurate, but the red still looks lighter.

Yesterday I wore one of the OPI Serena Williams duos. This is Grape Set Match with Servin' Up Sparkle on top. I LOVE LOVE LOVE Servin' Up Sparkle!

Here it is without the flash.

This week's manis

This is Essence- Where's the Party? after two days of wear. This is a GORGEOUS duochrome, and it was very difficult to capture in a picture. It flashes from a silvery color to purple, to greenish. The green usually shows up in low light.

Here it is without the flash. I wasn't able to capture it very well. I can't tell you how much I LOVE this color.

Here's my attempt at capturing the green.

Next, I wore Sally Hansen InstaDri in Mochachino. It doesn't really remind me of a mocachino. It has more red tones and kind of reminds me of maple leaves.

Here it is without the flash.

As for the giveaway, I've been super busy and haven't really had time to promote the blog. I'm still at 49 followers, and I'll wait until I get until 50+, so I'll just wait until then. If you know of anyone who would like to enter, let them know.

Some fall-like colors

The two colors I wore lately reminded me of fall.

Wet n' Wild The Gold and the Beautiful actually came out as part of the Spring 2011 collection. It still kind of reminds me of golden fall leaves. This is three coats, and I probably could have put on a fourth. As much as I love the formula, I don't like the brushes in the FastDry line. They seem to load up too much polish, and then it just gets everywhere.

Here it is without the flash.

China Glaze Goin' My Way? is from the Fall 2010 Vintage Vixen collection. This color looks rather bland in the bottle, but on the nails it looks pretty amazing. I'm currently wearing this. I'm going to try to get into the habit of posting my manis before they get destroyed working in the classroom. Surprisingly, this accurate color was easy to capture.

Without the flash, it looks like a gorgeous golden brown.

As for the 50 followers giveaway (check out the link on the side panel), I'll probably close it around this weekend. If 50 followers are reached before the weekend, I'll keep it going until then. Thank you everyone for all the support. I'm elated that I have so many readers :)

This week's sloppy manis

Teaching 5th grade is no easy job! My nails have taken a beating and I haven't had time to update or change polish as often. I was only able to wear two colors during this week.

Here's Sally Hansen Slick Slate after three days of intensive classroom activities!

Without the flash. Look how scratched and chipped it is!

Essie Jag-U-Are. It's kind of metallic but it's really hard to see with the flash.

It looks more accurate without the flash, but still it looks more like a cream than a metallic. This is a gorgeous shade!

I'm only a few followers away from 50! It's not too late to enter my giveaway. Click the link on the right.
