Blue Glitter Jelly Sandwich

This is a successful attempt at a jelly sandwich. I used ORLY- Spazmatic and Essie- Ballet Slippers. I love the look of glitter between polish and also with glitter on the top. It is very multidimensional. ORLY- Spazmatic is part of the recently released Flash Glam FX collection. It is filled with medium-sized blue hex glitters and some fine iridescent blue/purple shimmer particles. Spazmatic is pretty packed with glitter and I only needed two coats of it.

With the flash you can see how the layer of glitter looks under Ballet Slippers. For some reason, my index finger has a lot of topcoat bubbles in it.
I experimented with adding a layer of Apple Bottoms- Paris in Pink on top. I just used one coat so that it was a sheer wash of it just to change the color. It is a sheer pink jelly with glassfleck shimmer particles. I don't know much about Apple Bottoms nail polish. I purchased this in a set at Ross a while ago.
I preferred this without the pink on top, and I also experienced shrinkage at the tips of my nails because I added another coat of Seche Vite. In this picture you can see more of the shimmer in Paris in Pink.
I took this picture at the mid jelly sandwich process of this mani. This is two coats of Ballet Slippers, followed by one coat of Spazmatic with one more coat of Ballet Slippers on top.
Here's two coats of Ballet Slippers on its own before adding Spazmatic. It is a nude jelly

Here's my Sally's haul from today:
I got some acetone because I was running low, Color Club Winter Affair collection mini set, 2 bottles of Gelous, and ORLY- Miss Conduct and Angel Eyes

    1. They are so much fun! Sometimes I'm hesitant to try because I'm afraid certain combos won't work and I'll have to start the mani all over again. I was actually iffy about this combination and I'm so glad it worked!

  3. I also bought Orly Miss Conduct - love, love it - it's not gritty. Big fan here of making Jelly sands - my all time fav to layer in is OPI's Pirouette My Whistle. I am rocking the sands with the 3 new Zoya sheer jelly collection. Been into Sally's 2x in past 2 weeks and to 3 different ones - none have the new Color Club polishes - however I might end up ordering them elsewhere since reading and seeing the whole mess they did with issuing different colors but same named polishes to Sally's vs. other retailers...and there are 2 that I really want in that collection that are not in the Sally's version. What was Color Club thinking?

    1. I love Pirouette My Whistle also! It is definitely a mess with the Color Clubs with different names at Sally's. The two in the collection that I didn't get were the gold and the purple. The gold is pretty much identical to the Gingerbread Man one they had last year, which I have, and the purple looks similar to shades I already own. Usually I prefer getting full size bottles over minis because I like the bigger brushes in the full size bottles, but the Color Club mini bottles seem bigger. The set of 4 was only $10. I really should start buying minis because there is no possibly way I'm going to get through all of the polish I have haha
