Yet More Catching Up!

I'm catching up with more manis! First I have Amy's Nail Boutique- Ecopolo layered over Sally Girl- TTFN

Ecopolo is a custom polish made for a facebook group that I'm a member of. I thought it would be unique to layer it over green. Ecopolo is filled with various types of purple, pink, and blue glitter. There are shredded particles as well as circular glitter!

Here's a picture taken indoors without the flash. I applied two coats of Ecopolo.

Here's Sally Girl- TTFN. This is a mini that I won in a giveaway a while ago. It is a dusty mint-green creme. I am surprised with how good the formula is on the mini Sally Girl polishes. This applied flawlessly with two coats. I really like the brush also.

Indoors with the flash. The only downside to this polish was that it stained. It was reminiscent of Wet n Wild- I Need a Refresh-mint

Next I have a pink combo with OPI- Save Me layered over China Glaze- Hang Ten Toes.

OPI- Save Me is from last winter's Nicki Minaj collection. It has prismatic bar glitter in various sizes paired with silver micro glitter. This polish is ideal for layering.

In this slightly-blurred picture, you can see the different colors that the bar glitters flash. I only used one coat of Save Me.

Taken indoors without the flash, Hang Ten Toes was from the 2012 Summer Neons collection. It is a hot pink with a subtle shimmer. Since this was before layering Save Me over it and I didn't add top coat, it dried to a satin-like finish. This is characteristic of most neons. I only wore two coats of it because I used it as a base for layering, but if I were wearing this by itself, I would probably go for three coats since there were some bare spots.

With the flash- WOW! You can see the shimmer pop. It looks radioactive!

Lastly, I layered Happy Hands- Flowers on the Highway over Sephora by OPI- Slushied

Flowers on the Highway is filled with yellow, white, purple, green, pink, and black matte hex glitter in various sizes. I just love how these colors work together. The glitter was so packed in this polish, that I only needed one coat of it! 

This looks amazing over Slushied. It reminds me of the 70s!

Here is Sephora by OPI- Slushied taken indoors without the flash. It's a dusty, medium blue creme. The formula was great and application was flawless. Slushied is from the Winter 2011 Glee collection, so it's a bit older. I was able to snag this one in the clearance bin at Sephora.

Manis over the Holiday

I apologize for my lack of posts. I've acquired a terrible viral flu so I've been out of commission for the past few days. I have a few mani posts that I'm behind on so I'm going to feature two here. This first one is Sephora by OPI- Hollywood if I Could layered over Essie- Mint Candy Apple.

Sephora by OPI- Hollywood if I Could is part of the recently-released Jewelry Topcoats collection. It is filled with iridescent bar glitter!

You can see the different colors of the bar glitter in this picture taken with the flash. I applied two coats of this. There are also tiny pieces of glitter in this polish.

Here is Essie- Mint Candy Apple without the flash. It is a mint green creme leaning light blue. It is from Essie's Winter 2009 collection.

Here it is with the flash. This just needed two coats to be flawless. I'm a huge fan of mint greens.

My next combo is Glitzology- Island of Misfit Toys layered over OPI- Loyalty Islands Lilac.

Island of Misfit Toys is a unique one. It is filled with squares and hexes of matte multicolored glitter. It definitely reminds me of toys- especially Legos.

The formula on Island of Misfit toys was rather thick and I am only wearing one coat of it. I took this with me to do my nails on a trip out of town to visit family, so I didn't have any polish thinner with me. When I got back home, I put some thinner in it, and the consistency was perfect for me. 

OPI- Loyalty Islands Lilac is a really old one! It is from the South Seas collection of 1997.  I found this one in a salon. It has the old black label. The formula on this one was pretty thin, and it was rather streaky. I only used two coats since I was using it as a base for glitter, but I probably would have used three coats if I were to wear it alone. This picture was taken without the flash.

With the flash, you can see the lilac in this. This is such a pale lilac that it almost looks silver. It has a frosty quality to it, but I wouldn't categorize it as a frost; just a shimmer. 

Dandy Nails- Come Out and Play!

I have a quick post tonight. This is Dandy Nails- Come out and Play! This is composed of tiny pieces of white matte glitter suspended in a purple jelly base.

The purple base on this red-toned. Although it is a jelly, it builds up very nicely. This only needed two coats. It has opaque coverage, yet you can see the white glitter in between the layers of polish. I received many compliments on this shade. These polishes can be purchased at the Dandy Nails Etsy Shop.

Halloween Manis from the Week

I have a week's worth of manis to share. This week has been busy in the sense that I was either always out of my house or my fiance has been using the computer for grad school homework. (I prefer his computer over my slow PC) Enjoy!

This is Lacquistry- Witches Warts layered over Cetuem- 76. Witches Warts is part of the Halloween collection Lacquistry recently released. It consists of various sizes of glitter. There's black matte hex glitter and various sizes and shades of green glitter- some of it is prismatic. There are some tiny and large hexes in the mix also. Layered over Cetuem- 76, it was very Halloween! The glitter was so concentrated that I'm only wearing one coat of it. 

I've had Cetuem- 76 for a long time. I purchased it from a blog sale over a year ago and just never used it because it's kind of an odd color. It's like a muted dirty orange creme. The formula was amazing and I really liked the brush! I'm wearing two perfect coats. The only issue I had was that it got tipwear pretty quickly, but that's no issue if you change your polish as often as I do. I do not know a lot about the Cetuem brand, just that it's British.

 I received many compliments on this one. I am wearing Candy Lacquer- Autumn Leaves layered over Sinful Colors- Mesmerize. Autumn Leaves has various sizes of shredded red and yellow shards. Very fall! This was recently released in a Halloween collection. 

 These went together so well! I used two coats of Autumn Leaves and dabbed it around a little bit in order to evenly distribute the glitter. 

I took a picture of Mesmerize on its own before the layering, but it looks navy here. Instead it is an eggplant creme. It had a nice formula and needed two coats. Sinful Colors are pretty good quality for the price. 

Here's a flash picture in which you can see how purple Mesmerize is. In darker areas, it looked almost black. It was very vampy! 

 Last is Pretty & Polished- Them Bones. This is the final one that I had yet to wear from this year's Halloween collection. It's pretty unique! It has large white hex glitters, matte shards, and tiny bar glitter particles suspended in a murky black jelly base. 

I am wearing three coats of this. The way the glitter looks suspended in the jelly is amazing! The effect is so three-dimensional. The glitter was not gritty at all and this mani did not chip. It definitely looks like bones! My one criticism is that the larger hexes were difficult to get out of the bottle, but they were fine after I turned the bottle upside down for five minutes.

Bayou Blitz

 I wore a very special polish this past weekend. This is Pretty & Polished- Bayou Blitz. There is a lot going on in this polish! It has micro yellow matte glitter in a murky greenish-blue jelly base with the addition of multicolored large hexes of glitter! Wow, that was more difficult to describe than I thought.

 I am wearing three coats of Bayou Blitz. From the looks of it, you wouldn't think that there were too many large multi-colored hexes of glitter, but when I removed this, many of them were hiding beneath the layers of polish. I did have to do a little bit of fishing in order to get some of these larger pieces of glitter out of the bottle. I apologize that my sunlight pictures are a bit blurry. My camera was running low on battery power, and by the time it charged up, it was dark out.

 Here is a picture with the flash that is more in-focus. I just love this shade! It wore extremely well too. Besides one of the glitters that peeled off, there were no chips. It needed the foil method for removal.

Here are some recent additions: 

 My friend got me a Nicole by OPI Kardashians mini set and a full size of Rainbow in the S-Kylie. I had yet to try the Kardashian collection and I don't own that many NOPI's so I'm glad that I have them now.

I did some more dusty-hunting over the weekend (it's addicting!). I got Miso Happy with this Color, Bare it in Trafalgar Square, You Cannoli Imagine (all black labels), Designer de Better, Sea Ya Later Sailor!, and DS Jewel. 

Amy's Nail Boutique- Pink Lemonade

 This polish is very unique. It is Amy's Nail Boutique- Pink Lemonade. It is a combination of yellow and pink matte glitter in a clear base. It is rather sheer. I am wearing four coats here. I really enjoyed this shade, and for next time I may layer it over a pink or yellow.

 Pink Lemonade wore very well too! There is a small chip on my index finger because I went to the pool, but other than that everything was fine. The color combination of the glitters looks great together. The finish of this was actually smooth with one coat of Seche Vite. It didn't feel gritty like many glitters do.

Amy's Nail Boutique is a relatively new indie company. Amy has wonderful customer service! I received my polishes from her probably 2-3 days after ordering. She also has plenty of other nifty shades in her Etsy shop. Currently Pink Lemonade isn't in stock, but she usually posts restock dates on her facebook page. What does everyone thing of the matte glitter trends lately? I'm enjoying it!

I came across the Wet n Wild Fergie exclusives and I threw in a unique looking Sinful Colors- Pull Over because I don't own that many yellows. Sinful Colors are only $1.99 and they have a pretty good formula for the price. The Fergie ones are: Hollywood Walk of Fame, Glowstick, No Place Like Home, and Tonight's Gonna be a Good Night. Each of the Fergie polishes retailed for about $3.50 each.

Nail Venturous FLOAM!!!

I was so excited when I was able to purchase Nail Venturous- Floam! This was one of my top lemmings and it definitely did not disappoint. I love everything about this polish. The matte glitter, the 90s Nickelodeon nostalgia, the texture, and the color combination! I'm wearing three coats of this. It was really sheer for the first coat, and I was questioning how build-able it was going to be, but it looks perfect with three coats.

If I chose to layer this over a green or blue, it probably only would have needed two coats. You can even choose to add just one coat of this for some extra glitter instead of an opaque look. I'm completely mesmerized by this. I could not stop staring at my nails. I am impressed with the matte glitters that indie sellers have been releasing lately. I don't want to remove this! The label on my bottle was a little worn, but it arrived like this.

I got some nail mail!!!

Here's Pretty & Polished- Hearrts and Daggers. This is red, black, and white matte glitter of various hex sizes, bar glitters, and hearts! This is absolutely amazing and I cannot wait to try it!

 I went into American Apparel for the first time yesterday, and although the clothes were gorgeous, I was drawn to the nail polish! They were regularly priced for $6 a bottle, but they had a 3 for $15 special, so I just went for that. I got Violet Panache, Meteor Shower, and Galaxy. Violet Panache reminds me of a bluer glass flecked version of Rescue Beauty Lounge- Scrangie (which I still NEED to get). I don't own that many "shard" polishes, so Meteor Shower was a must. Gaxaxy was the polish I was drawn to first because I just love multicolored hex glitter! I own so many rainbow glitters and I just keep buying them.

My free Zoya Surf collection minis from the Pinterest promo arrived today. Here's Kimber, Zuza, and Myrta. I only had to pay shipping, but it was still an awesome promo! I already have a full-size of Zuza so I may consider swapping or giving the mini away to a friend.

There will be more hauls coming up! Yesterday Llarowe was selling Lynnderellas in her store and I was able to get 5 of them before she sold out. I got Chocolatta Love, Gotta Love Brains, One Nutty Fruitcake, Very Pretty Vampire, and Mercurial. Luckily yesterday was my payday. I may have to go on a no-buy in the near future due to this.
