Recent Manis

I've had another busy few days, so I'm catching up on what polish I have worn. Here I have Loreal- The Temptress' Power. This one was also released this fall as part of the Project Runway limited edition collection. It's a shimmery orange- toned tan filled with blue/green shifting shimmer! It's a hard one to describe.
Here's a good angle of the shimmer! Gorgeous!
This was a little bit on the sheer side and needed three coats to achieve opacity.
My friends got married this weekend and had a carnival-themed wedding; so I did a mani that reminded me of cotton candy. I also chopped off my nails so they're nubs now. I layered one of the Blue Cross Halloween pumpkin glitters over OPI- Skull and Gloss Bones.
I just love how this looks on short nails! The glitter (which didn't have a name) is blue and magenta medium hexes suspended in a clear base. It was so concentrated, that this is only one coat of it. I applied it with a dabbing motion so that it was evenly distributed. I purchased this one recently, so check out your drugstore Halloween displays!

Here's OPI- Skull and Glossbones all by itself. It's a very light gray creme. It was a great formula and only needed two coats. It was from the Pirates of the Caribbean collection released in spring of 2011.

Some new additions!
 Some Halloween Candy Lacquers
Dusty haul is on the top row: OPI- Blushingham Palace, Maliblue, Boot-Hill a Vanilla, Chicago Champagne Toast, Greenwich Green, Wyatt Earple Purple, and Out of this World

I also purchased Crim-Sun from and friend and she threw in Dollish Polish- Toad-ally Awesome! It was awesome indeed :)

OPI- Into the Night and Orange Glitter

I tried out a fun Halloween combo! This is OPI- Into the Night topped off with an unnamed orange glitter in a pumpkin bottle. This combination worked well, and was very noticeable with the complementary colors. I believe the pumpkin polishes are made by Blue Cross. I purchased this one last halloween.

The orange glitter is composed of medium sized hexes and they're suspended in a clear base. The glitter was so concentrated that I only needed one coat of it! I dabbed the glitter around a little bit in order to make sure it was evenly dispersed.

Here is a picture indoors without the flash.
I took a couple pictures of OPI- Into the Night before I added the orange glitter. This picture is with the flash. Into the Night was part of OPI's Amazing Spiderman collection released this past May. This one was really sheer. It required three coats to be opaque and was somewhat streaky. It's a darker blue shimmer, but not quite navy blue.

Here's a picture of it without the flash.

I had the perfect dusty-hunting scenario today. It was payday PLUS I had a break in between appointments for work! I went overboard but got some vintage goodies!
Covergirl Nailslicks- Smoky Topaz and Let's Go Green, Wet n Wild- 415A and Metallic Green
vintage Sally Hansens- Cyber, Funky Frost, Ace Frost, and Denim Creme
MAC- Sacred White and Silverstruck, Sally Hansen- Gold Chrome, China Glaze- Twilight and Primavera
Revlon- Plum Flip, Magical, and Crystal Ball
OPI- Greece Just Blue Me Away, Megawatt, and DS Exclusive!

I also got some nail mail today:
OPI- Yokohama Twilight and Butter London- Two Fingered Salute

Zoya Zuza

I'm wearing a pretty one today! Zoya- Zuza is from this past summer's Surf collection. It is a blue shimmer with some green to it. It's actually almost a teal. It looked slightly more green in person. It's showing up more blue in my photos.
This only required two coats and the formula was great. I wore this for three days without chipping. I only had minimal tipwear. I own many blues and blues leaning green, but this isn't like any of my other polishes. I enjoyed wearing it!

I also seemed to acquire a lot of polish this week!
Here's the Pretty & Polished Hella-Wicked Halloween Collection. I cannot wait to try these!
 New Happy Hands :)
Some blog sale vintage gems: Revlon- Racy and Covergirl Nailslicks: Rose Gold, Honey Plum Glow, and Cherry Truffle
Maybelline- Downtown Brown, and a light gray NOX Twilight. It doesn't have a label on it and I wasn't able to figure out the name of it, unless it's just simply Twilight?
EPIC OPI dusty hunting goodies! 2 more sanderellas (which I'm holding on to for now), Greenwich Green, Live from NY it's OPI, Hollywood Blonde, and Charmed by a Snake

Bayou Blitz

I wore a very special polish this past weekend. This is Pretty & Polished- Bayou Blitz. There is a lot going on in this polish! It has micro yellow matte glitter in a murky greenish-blue jelly base with the addition of multicolored large hexes of glitter! Wow, that was more difficult to describe than I thought.
I am wearing three coats of Bayou Blitz. From the looks of it, you wouldn't think that there were too many large multi-colored hexes of glitter, but when I removed this, many of them were hiding beneath the layers of polish. I did have to do a little bit of fishing in order to get some of these larger pieces of glitter out of the bottle. I apologize that my sunlight pictures are a bit blurry. My camera was running low on battery power, and by the time it charged up, it was dark out.
Here is a picture with the flash that is more in-focus. I just love this shade! It wore extremely well too. Besides one of the glitters that peeled off, there were no chips. It needed the foil method for removal.

Here are some recent additions:
My friend got me a Nicole by OPI Kardashians mini set and a full size of Rainbow in the S-Kylie. I had yet to try the Kardashian collection and I don't own that many NOPI's so I'm glad that I have them now.
I did some more dusty-hunting over the weekend (it's addicting!). I got Miso Happy with this Color, Bare it in Trafalgar Square, You Cannoli Imagine (all black labels), Designer de Better, Sea Ya Later Sailor!, and DS Jewel.

Some Recent Manis

I wore Pretty & Polished- Boot Camp over Zoya- Shawn. These two went very well together. Just looking at it, you can't even really tell that Boot Camp is layered on another shade. Boot Camp is pretty sheer on its own. It has brown, black, and green hex glitter and green square and black bar glitter in a sheer green shimmery base.
I did have to do a little bit of "fishing" in order to get some of the glitter out of this but it wasn't too difficult. Spreading the glitter evenly on the nail wasn't very challenging either.
Here's what Zoya- Shawn looks like on its own. I applied two coats of it before adding Boot Camp. Shawn surprisingly wasn't one of my untrieds. I had this shade for a while, and actually wore it before I started photographing swatches for this blog! I figured it would be a good green to use as a base and also I would have a swatch of it. It's a dark green creme that has yellow tints in it.
Right after I applied the two coats of Boot Camp, I noticed that it dried matte. I usually am a huge fan of the matte finish, and I loved the look of this, but I was impatient and I wanted it to dry quickly so I topped it off with Seche Vite. The topcoat makes the shimmer in Boot Camp really pop.

Another mani I wore in the past couple days was Finger Paints- Winter Sky. This was released in their 2011 holiday collection available at Sally's. The label print is peeling off of the bottle! The label is still intact though. I really liked the color. It's a teal with a subtle hint of shimmer, but the wear was horrible!    This mani only lasted one day and I had to change it. The polish on my index finger chipped off in chunks, and I had to redo it for the purpose of taking this picture, so it's still wet in this image. This picture is without the flash.
Here it is with the flash. you can see the shimmer more. The color of this polish doesn't really remind me of the name "Winter Sky". It reminds me of a body of water in a tropical place which is the complete opposite.

I also got over my fear of dusty hunting and went in to a couple salons today! I had success! Here are my finds:
Top Row: China Glaze- Mummy May I and Sweet Revenge, Essie- Showstopper, OPI- Will You Mari-Achi Me? and Euro-mazing. Second Row: OPI- Shanghai Shimmer, Color Club- Glitz and Glamour, OPI- You Make me Vroom, At Your Quebec & Call, Sanderella, and Done Out in Deco.

I also received packages from KB Shimmer and Metametics. I got Key Lime Pie and The Square from KB Shimmer and Lannister Gold and Earth Kingdom from Metametics.

Sanderella was the key find of today! I found it in the first salon I went into. I definitely want to do this again! If I didn't spend so much money, or had more money I could have gone to 20 more salons. It was very awkward at first and I was nervous, but it was so thrilling that I just kept going. Has anybody found some neat polishes dusty-hunting?
