Super Mega Haul!!!

It's not news that I am an avid polish purchaser, but throughout the past few weeks, I seemed to have accumulated tons! I purchased a vintage lot of polish on ebay, bought a couple from blog sales, received some gifts, and stumbled upon many at stores for good prices! I figured all of this polish merited a separate blog post. I still have some manis to share with you, and I will be posting them soon.

Yet More Catching Up!

I'm catching up with more manis! First I have Amy's Nail Boutique- Ecopolo layered over Sally Girl- TTFN

Ecopolo is a custom polish made for a facebook group that I'm a member of. I thought it would be unique to layer it over green. Ecopolo is filled with various types of purple, pink, and blue glitter. There are shredded particles as well as circular glitter!

Here's a picture taken indoors without the flash. I applied two coats of Ecopolo.

Here's Sally Girl- TTFN. This is a mini that I won in a giveaway a while ago. It is a dusty mint-green creme. I am surprised with how good the formula is on the mini Sally Girl polishes. This applied flawlessly with two coats. I really like the brush also.

Indoors with the flash. The only downside to this polish was that it stained. It was reminiscent of Wet n Wild- I Need a Refresh-mint

Next I have a pink combo with OPI- Save Me layered over China Glaze- Hang Ten Toes.

OPI- Save Me is from last winter's Nicki Minaj collection. It has prismatic bar glitter in various sizes paired with silver micro glitter. This polish is ideal for layering.

In this slightly-blurred picture, you can see the different colors that the bar glitters flash. I only used one coat of Save Me.

Taken indoors without the flash, Hang Ten Toes was from the 2012 Summer Neons collection. It is a hot pink with a subtle shimmer. Since this was before layering Save Me over it and I didn't add top coat, it dried to a satin-like finish. This is characteristic of most neons. I only wore two coats of it because I used it as a base for layering, but if I were wearing this by itself, I would probably go for three coats since there were some bare spots.

With the flash- WOW! You can see the shimmer pop. It looks radioactive!

Lastly, I layered Happy Hands- Flowers on the Highway over Sephora by OPI- Slushied

Flowers on the Highway is filled with yellow, white, purple, green, pink, and black matte hex glitter in various sizes. I just love how these colors work together. The glitter was so packed in this polish, that I only needed one coat of it! 

This looks amazing over Slushied. It reminds me of the 70s!

Here is Sephora by OPI- Slushied taken indoors without the flash. It's a dusty, medium blue creme. The formula was great and application was flawless. Slushied is from the Winter 2011 Glee collection, so it's a bit older. I was able to snag this one in the clearance bin at Sephora.

Neon Pink and Flakies

This was a pretty wild combination. I selected two polishes that are very unlikely to go together. As a base color, I used a Sally Girl mini called Way Cool, which is a hot pink probably designed for summer. I topped it off with Color Club- Snow-flakes from this holiday's Winter Affair collection. This mani was definitely bright, so you may want to prepare your eyes!

Snow-Flakes is just your typical orange/yellow flakie familiar to Sally Hansen's Hidden Treasure or Essie's Shine of the Times. I bought Snow-Flakes in a mini set that was exclusive to Sally's. The special thing about Snow-Flakes is that it is scented. Unfortunately I have a cold and I was unable to smell it! If anybody else owns this shade, let me know what you thought it smelled like.

I used two coats of Snow-Flakes on top of Way Cool. These flakies were definitely noticeable!

Here it is with the flash! WOW! It's interesting how it looks more red in natural lighting versus hot pink in the flash. I'll have to admit that I couldn't leave this mani on very long because it was giving me a headache!

Here's Sally Girl- Way Cool on it's own. This is without the flash in natural lighting. This is truly a neon. It is shown here without topcoat, and even though it wasn't completely dry it is showing a semi-matte finish.

Okay, shield your eyes..

This is Way Cool on it's own with the flash! It's super bright! I've read that China Glaze- Pool Party is pretty close to this if you'd like a dupe. I bought this Sally Girl mini probably almost 8 years ago! I only needed to use two coats of it in order for it to be opaque, but that is because the polish was on the thick side. I didn't bother thinning it because it ended up working well for me. Has anybody seen Way Cool at Sally's lately? i usually don't pay attention to the Sally Girl minis, and the newer ones that I own do not have names on them.

Some Red Mani Combinations

I have not updated for a few days because I had a busy week, but I have two manis to show you that both feature red!

 Here's China Glaze- Oxidized Aqua over an unnamed Sally Girl red mini. Oxidized Aqua is part of the Crackle Metals collection that came out last summer.

 These colors went pretty well together. The red leaned more orange, so blue and orange are definitely contrasting colors. I was impressed with how much Oxidized Aqua crackled. You could see a lot of the red through it. 

I feel like I've been wearing crackles like they're going out of style. No pun intended.

This particular combination reminds me of this:

Here is the unnamed red by itself:

 With the flash (pre clean-up) it almost resembles a coral. It's between a coral and a red-orange. I wish that it had a name!

Here it is without the flash. It looks more orange here and this is probably more accurate to how the shade looks in real life. Those Sally Girl mini bottles are so awkward to hold because they're teeny tiny!  It was also rather difficult to tell if this polish was a creme or a jelly because it was somewhat sheer. I am only wearing two coats of it here, so it leans more towards a creme.

On to my next red mani!

 This is OPI's Double Decker Red topped off with Crown Me Already! I also cut my nails, so the nubs are back yet again.

 I did a gradient of Crown Me Already over Double Decker Red. Crown Me Already is from the Summer 2011 Miss USA collection. For the first coat I went about 2/3 down the nail, and then put three coats of Crown Me Already on the tips so that it was opaque.

I love doing gradients with glitter and I enjoy the way this combination looks on short nails; very classy and elegant.

Here's Double Decker Red on it's own pre clean-up with the flash. It is from OPI's 2003 British Collection. This one is a black label. The formula was a little thin and runny but with 2 coats it was opaque.

I've been pretty good with my hauling lately, but here are some new additions:

Revlon- Sparkle Aplenty, 2Chix- Chucky Finster, Maybelline Boho Gold and Avante Green

Cinderella Nails, Giveaway Winnings, and Nail Mail

It wasn't until after I finished this mani that it reminded me of Cinderella's dress for the ball in the Disney movie. I used two coats of Zoya Kristen followed by one coat of Sally Hansen- Strobe Light. It was gorgeous and it only chipped on one finger (on my other hand not photographed) after two days of wear.  I love Strobe Light! It reminds me of OPI- Teenage Dream, but it's nowhere near a dupe. Teenage dream  has a pink jelly base, while Strobe Light has a clear base.

Here is Kristen by itself (before clean-up). It's a greyed-pastel blue creme. I love it! It's very unique in my collection! This was the only polish from the Zoya Feel collection that I purchased. The formula was amazing and it applied smoothly in two coats.

I won The Nail Polish Guru's 200 follower giveaway and I received my winnings in the mail today. Brittany sent me some amazing goodies- and I love them all! I got two Sally Girl polishes (both unnamed) one is a pastel green and the other is a coral red creme. I also got eos lip balm in strawberry sorbet (I've wanted to try this stuff for a while!), and a super cute bird nail file (I love birds!!!)

I also got Pure Ice: Oh Baby!, Busted, and Heart Breaker.

I also purchased two Wet n Wild color icon polishes from Lakeisha from Refined and Polished. This is 24 Carats and Rockin' Rubies. These were the last two I needed to complete my Wet n Wild color icon collection. I contemplated buying them on ebay, but the prices were ridiculous- so I'm glad I found them on her blog sale. Lakeisha also threw in some Starburst and a nail file. I ate the Starburst already lol.
