A Couple Nicki Minaj Polishes and a Minor Tragedy

Today I'm wearing OPI- Pink Friday under OPI Super Bass Shatter. I seem to be going through all the Nicki Minaj collection shades! This picture is with the flash. I thought Pink Friday would be very similar to OPI Sparrow Me the Drama, but Pink Friday is so much more bright. It reminds me of bubblegum. Pink Friday applied flawlessly with two coats. It is a great creme!

Here it is without the flash. Many are over the shatter trend, but I still enjoy it. I noticed that Super Bass shatter is the first shatter OPI has put out without a generic name like black, gold, blue... etc. I would describe it as a dark magenta/light purple with some shimmer. This combination is really girly.. almost too girly! There is definitely a lot of contrast.
Here is Pink Friday on its own.

Then a disaster took place...
I was organizing my collection, and I went to open a mini bottle of OPI Brisbane Bronze, and then *SNAP*. It's a shame this happened so I panicked! I needed to find another bottle to transfer Brisbane Bronze to. At least Brisbane Broze is part of the OPI Classics line, but I didn't want any of it to go to waste.
This is a bottle (or used to be) of Wet n Wild- Sparked. I had this for a really long time, and used a good bit of it to the point where it got goopy. Unfortunately it was before I got seriously interested in collecting polish and I added nail polish remover to it to thin it instead of thinner. What used to be a beautiful pink glitter turned into this gunk. Fortunately Wet n Wild rereleased Sparked as part of their Wild Shine line so I have the same shade, just in a different bottle style. I do miss the old Wet n Wild bottles/logos though.
The day was saved!! It took me forever to rinse out the old Wet n Wild Sparked before I could pour Brisbane Bronze in. I used pure acetone and an eye dropper. I spilled some acetone on my counter top and it dripped on the dishwasher (which is black) melting some of the plastic. Oops. Hopefully my landlord won't notice. I think I should invest in some empty bottles/metal balls incase an event like this occurs again.

  1. Yeah, it's good to have empties on hand, for sure! Super Bass isn't as dark as I was expecting--thanks for the swatches.

    1. Super Bass looks so much darker in the bottle. There are some areas on my nails where it's a bit darker, but I guess it depends on how thickly it's applied. I'm definitely ordering some empty bottles though!

  2. Super Bass looks pretty cool over Pink Friday! I'm not sure if I'm going to pick up either yet, but a part of me really wants them. Sorry to hear about your broken bottle, that sucks! At least you were able to salvage the rest. I actually have Sparked, but in a different bottle. It's pretty thick and unusable right now though.

    1. If you want your Sparked to be usable again, don't do what I did and add remover or it will look really gross haha. I originally was only going to get the really unique polishes in the Nicki Minaj collection at first (Save Me, Metallic 4 Life, and Super Bass Shatter) but I ended up buying all of them. If you decide to get them, you won't regret it.

  3. Oh no!! I have heard of so many people's bottles doing that lately! I wonder what it is? Your nails look pretty though!

  4. Thanks! Yeah.. it just cracked as soon as I went to open the bottle. I wasn't even exerting that much force. I'm thinking maybe there was dried polish on the rim, and it caused the glass to break. I guess the mini OPI bottles aren't very sturdy. I've never had a problem with the full size OPI bottles though. Also, I've dropped bottles of polish several times on hard floors and never had a break before.
