Revlon Whimsical

This is Revlon- Whimsical. It is a sheer milky blue base with medium blue and pink hexes as well as smaller particles of glitter. Whimsical started popping up in the drug stores earlier this year. At first it was rather difficult to track down, but over time it has become more commonly found.

Although this shade is sheer, I didn't think it was as sheer as others perceived it to be. I am wearing three coats of it, and I probably could have even added another to make the color more bold. A white or light blue would look neat layered under this as a basecoat, but I really enjoy the way glitter looks when it is suspended in a jelly alone. This shade is a pre-made jelly sandwich in a bottle.
This is a very close dupe to Deborah Lippmann- Glitter in the Air. I was just about to purchase that one until I discovered this. Whimsical is a much less expensive alternative and very close!

  1. I love Whimsical. I usually use a blue base coat so I don't have add as many coats

  2. Wow - thought you had this on over a light nude/taupe base - on my monitor I am seeing no blue creamy white base in this...but that is how I first worse the DL version Up In the Air - it was released with a shade called Naked (or maybe it was called Nude - have to look) - so I right off put the 2 together and loved the look. I really like it over some other shades but Naked is my fav way to wear it. I bought the Revlon dupe when I finally found it (back when it was an LTD release - now Revlon made it part of their classic wall.

    1. My nails are stained pretty badly so that could be why it's showing up as a nude. I'm glad that Revlon made this part of their classic line. It's a beautiful shade.

  3. Love this one! I agree with a colored base it really does pop! I like it over Essie Mint Apple...or one of the dupes of that shade.

  4. I love this color, and I usually wear it on top of a white or something light so the baby blue base shows up <3
